Welcome to the Blue
Raven Photo Gallery! The Norwegian Fjord Horse is not only a
unique breed, but a very attractive one as well.
The foals in
particular are absolutely irresistible; we start the photo gallery
with some adorable pictures from our "kindergarten" for
you to enjoy... |

Even
when they're on their own, Fjord horses foals are never bored.
They make up their own games, trotting and bucking,
then
maybe a well deserved rest, then back to the prancing joys of
childhood...
When Fjords find a
pal, they become even more affectionate and playful... |

|
"Let's run over
there, fast, for no real reason at all!" |
"Pause for a
chummy huddle, while we decide what to do next..." |
"Okay, now
let's run over THERE, but even faster this time!" |

| "Trail
riding" is different here, not just for the shore side
scenery... |
But also
for the "local yokels" who like to follow along! |
 |
 |
| Here are
the horses at the Bay of Fundy... |
and here
they are IN the Bay of Fundy! |
 |
 |
|
The
adaptable Fjords are equally at home lolling
around on a hot
summer afternoon...

Scotian winter's day!

|
Here's
the Blue Raven barn entrance next to the
house;
a fairly typical Nova Scotian winter snowfall... |
The
herd is making a circle in the snow around a bush;
we
think they get "better tv reception" that way... |
 |

 |
 |
| This is
where our horses start their life; don't you wish you lived
here? |
Staying
close to mother, this little foal seems to be playing peek-a-boo! |
With
their thick coats and manes, Fjord horses are snuggly in winter! |
And they
can, apparently, also enjoy a good laugh! |
Bloodlines
and Descendants/Our Fjord-Family
When we decided to import our breeding
stock from Germany we looked to find the very best. For breeding, we are
convinced that only the exceptional horses are worth investing the money
in. To produce and raise highest quality foals it needs not only a very
good stallion it also needs top of the line mares. Now after the 5th
generation of foals we are very proud that this concept is working well!
Orka
the stallion
He is a son of Ohlson out of Larissa
(a daughter of the famous Heino who has been extremely
influential in the breed) and St.Pr.St. Juliane. Descendants
of Dyre Gloppang.
Orka as well as his sire Ohlson are
phenomenal movers and they pass it to their offspring.
This stallion is very athletic, has
spectacular movement, a lovely temperament and is well handled and well
behaved.
